Jane's Story
Jane was an A&E nurse; now she’s an urgent care practitioner, a ballroom dancer and a dab hand at sewing.
Jane joined Shropdoc in 2016 after 23 years in A&E. “Leaving A&E after such a long time was the right decision for me, as I felt I had more to offer the community in a primary care setting. I’ve had so many unique experiences in my previous role – I’ve even been filmed for various TV programmes covering life in A&E.
It’s great to work closely with GP’s in the community; it gives such a different perspective and you can learn a lot. I’m also really looking forward to progressing to a UCP 2 level and using my acute nursing background further.
Working at Shropdoc gives me time to take part in a wide variety of hobbies – I love to keep busy! I can often be found ballroom dancing (I even enter competitions), practising archery and sewing my own clothes and dance dresses – anything with a bit of sparkle!”
