Sheila's Story
Sheila was a telephonist; now she’s a receptionist, a theatre-goer and a tennis superstar.
Sheila has been working as a receptionist with Shropdoc for 7 years, beginning her career in the Telford base and then moving over to work in Shrewsbury. “Before coming to Shropdoc I worked at BT for over 30 years, starting off as a telephonist. In fact it’s the only company I worked for before Shropdoc! I took voluntary redundancy in 2010, and decided to look for a part-time job, which is when I decided to apply to Shropdoc. I had never worked in a customer facing role before, so I wasn’t sure what I was in for when I took the job! I have, however, enjoyed meeting the many different people who walk through our doors.
Working at Shropdoc really suits my lifestyle, giving me lots of time to enjoy playing tennis, cycling and visiting the theatre. I’m also able to visit my daughter in Cambridge on a regular basis – family is very important to me. I mustn’t forget my ladies who lunch days - making the time for those is essential!
