About us: Shropdoc is a not-for-profit company established in 1996. We provide 24/7 urgent primary care services for patients across Powys, Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, and Lancashire, including out of hours service GP, care coordination, single point of access in Shropshire, and an oncology advice line.
Shropdoc’s mission is to ‘keep the patient at the heart of all that we do’. We aim to achieve excellence in the care we offer to our patients, providing a safe and high-quality service that is easily accessible. We care about our team of over 200 colleagues. We strive to provide quality patient care, a working community with integrity and kindness, and are committed to continually developing our staff. Our vision and values of Community, Quality, Kindness, Integrity, and Development are at the heart of all that we do, enabling us to achieve the best outcomes for patients and for our colleagues.
We provide and are currently recruiting additional Clinical Practitioners with an enthusiasm and passion for high quality care, to increase our existing team of very friendly and dynamic clinical practitioners across two of our current work streams -Telephone Triage and Home Visiting out of hours (OOH).
Role Overview: Clinical Practitioners work alongside our GPs in the Call Centre based in Shrewsbury performing telephone triage, responding to calls passed through the NHS 111 service, as well as referrals from other Professionals from within the community setting. Whilst Clinical Practitioners based at our main Shropdoc bases at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals, will respond to home visits when necessary, in one of our distinctive livered ‘Shropdoc’ cars with a driver provided. Both work streams require the clinician to have the ability to cover evenings and overnights on weekdays, 24/7 at weekends and Bank Holidays.
The Person: We are particularly interested in hearing from healthcare professionals with a primary or urgent care background (with or without non-medical prescribing experience). However, training is provided, and we are more interested in people with the right attitude and approach to work rather than specific experience.
The Clinician must be both reliable, dependable and seeking a new challenge, have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the confidence to work autonomously, making decisions without direct supervision, that said, support would never be far away when you need it.
The clinician will have the opportunity to expand their current knowledge, utilise current skills and progress their career within the unscheduled primary and urgent care setting.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary and benefits package: Enjoy comprehensive benefits to include access to the NHS Pension, cycle to work scheme, flexible working arrangements, 25 days holiday, rising to 27 with length of service, contractual sick pay, Employee Assistance health programme (Paycare), paid compassionate leave.
- A supportive and inclusive work environment: Join a team that values collaboration, innovation, and personal growth with regular one-to-one sessions.
- Career growth: Full on the job training provided with the opportunity to develop your career with professional development opportunities.
- Work-life balance: We understand the importance of work-life balance and will discuss hours with the successful candidate.
