Healthwatch Telford and Wrekin Inspection Visit

Part of the local Health Watch programme is to carry out Enter and View visits. Local health representatives carry out these visits to health and social care services to find out how they are being run and to make recommendations where needed.

Purpose

The purpose of the visit was to engage with patients using ShropDoc and to learn about their experiences of care. Health watch heard about the experiences of relatives/carers and friends, observed the patients with the staff in their surroundings and to identified examples of good care practice.

Findings

ShropDoc had two visits in January and received a fantastic report from Health Watch. The findings showed how successful and important ShropDoc is within the community. Patients filled out a questionnaire and voiced their views of the service provided to them.

There were no negative comments about the service, here are some of the comments made from the patients, carers and relatives:

“Brilliant service – never had a problem.”

“I am extremely grateful for this service.”

 “Good service and good staff.”

“Happy I was listened to and not rushed.”

“Helped me and reassured me about my concern.”

“Very quick and very pleasant.”

“Doctor explained what he thought was wrong with my baby; we decided what to do together.”

We are working towards a society in which people’s health and social care needs are heard, understood and met.” Here at Shropdoc we couldn’t agree more, so we are very proud to have received such a positive report from them!
